About

Jolanta Czaicka

(she/her)

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (LMFTA),
Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate (LMHCA)
in the State of Washington.

Welcome!

I offer my clients a safe and non-judgmental space. I work from a social justice stance, and I respect every client in their complexity and diversity. What satisfies me the most about my work are the alliances I build with my clients.

A trusting relationship between the therapist and client is essential to accomplishing the client’s objectives. If you are in relationship with me, I will work collaboratively to set and meet your goals. I believe that every human has strengths and internal abilities. I am here to reflect to you the resiliency I see and to reflect the areas of opportunity for growth.

I have a background in arts, film and literature. My family moved across the world a few times. This experience expanded my awareness of cultural differences and the multiplicity of factors that influence our lived experience. I utilize this understanding of differences to help me see every client in their unique context. It helps me address the diverse needs of each client and to respond to each person’s full range of emotions and responses to their experiences.

Perhaps, like myself, you may have felt like you were “different” or did “not belong”. This feeling is what motivated me to become a therapist. After working through some of my own lived experiences and coming to a place of empowerment, I want to share that empowered feeling with my clients. I believe that you do not need to feel pressure to change into someone else to fit into this world and that a sense of belonging will not come from trying to fit in. You are good enough.

I studied psychology at UC Berkeley and received my Master’s in Couple and Family Therapy from Antioch University, Seattle. I am an expatriate from Poland and English is my second language. I am also a mother of an adult “third culture kid” (TCK, children raised in a country and culture other than their parents during their developmental years). I see a need for compassionate, culturally informed care for immigrant and expatriate families. I have experience working in Crisis Intervention, Community Mental Health, and private practice.

In my free time, I enjoy travelling, nature, cinema, and exploring the vast world of fragrances and olfactory sensations. I am constantly learning and I am an avid reader. I love spending time with my family whenever we can, friends, good people, and my dog and cat.

Our therapy sessions can be conducted in English and Polish.

      FAQ

I provide only virtual therapy at this time. I use a HIPAA-compliant, user-friendly telehealth video platform.

I do not take insurance at this time. I understand that counseling should be more affordable, and my session fees reflect it. I also offer a few sliding scale spots for individuals and families in need. It is my contribution to empowering minority groups and people who experience poverty. Please, inquire because these spots fill up quickly.

Additionally, I  can provide you with the Superbill you can submit for potential reimbursement. Please, verify your benefits with your insurance provider, as this is the responsibility of the client and not the therapist.

Debit cards, Visa, and Mastercard are all accepted via our secure Client Portal. Your billing data are encrypted. I will not know your credit card details and billing information.

Payment is due at the time of service.

Cancellations must be made no later than 24 hours in advance. If you cancel within less than 24 hours, a fee of $50 will be charged to your credit card on file. In case of no-call, no show, a full fee will be charged. Exemptions can be considered on a case-by-case basis.

When a client is more than 15 minutes late, I will cancel the session, and this would be treated as a no-call, no-show unless they contacted me and explained the situation.

Under the law, health care providers need to give clients/patients who do not have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services prior to treatment.

Please be sure to  get a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least three business days before your service.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.

I usually answer Client’s  messages within 48 hours, unless individually arranged.
